Exploring Basalt Technology and Expanding New Material Applications - New Era Company Visits Zhongke Basalt New Material Research Institute for Inspection and Exchange

Release date:2024-09-15

On September 13, 2024, our team visited Chongqing Kaizhou Zhongke Basalt New Materials Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as "Zhongke Basalt") for in-depth research on basalt fiber preparation technology and its innovative applications in new energy, infrastructure and other fields, promoting cross-border cooperation in the new materials industry.

Technological innovation: from ore to high-end materials

The research institute showcased the internationally leading production process of basalt fiber electric melting furnace:

Low carbon intelligent manufacturing: adopting pure oxygen combustion technology, energy consumption is reduced by 40%, and fiber tensile strength reaches over 4800MPa;

Intelligent production line: The AI visual sorting system has achieved a raw material impurity rate of less than 0.03%, and a continuous fiber production line with an annual output of 10000 tons has been put into operation;

Technical certification: The product has passed international standards such as EU CE and American ASTM, and has been awarded the "National Green Building Material Certification".

Application scenario: Cross border empowerment of new ecology

Focusing on the fields of new energy and infrastructure:

In the field of wind power, basalt composite blades are 20% lighter than traditional fiberglass and have been applied in offshore wind power projects;

Transportation infrastructure: Corrosion resistant reinforcement bars replaced steel bars, successfully implemented in XX high-speed tunnel project, with a 30% increase in service life;

Strategic reserve: Both parties have reached a preliminary cooperation intention on the joint research and development of fire-resistant separators for energy storage batteries.

The person in charge of Zhongke Basalt said, "Zhongke Basalt's technological breakthroughs provide a new fulcrum for upgrading the industrial chain. In the future, we will jointly build a new material application demonstration base in the southwest region to accelerate the industrialization of scientific and technological achievements
